The Staging Gap Vision
Professional Home Staging, as we have come to learn, means so much more than just a job. We have seen stay-at-home moms, new Canadians, people struggling with poverty and difficult relationships, pull them selves up and create a whole new life with their Home Staging Businesses.
This career allows flexibility with time, a good wage, and a reasonable start up, it is approachable and do-able.
Through our training programs, we have had the privilege to meet some of the most amazing entrepreneurs who are looking to better their lives, and the lives of their families through the Home Staging Industry.
The Staging Gap is about building a community of people who are in it together, people that you can lean into and learn from and help other achieve all that successful business ownership has to offer.
We are so glad that you are here. Welcome!
How would this new young hip GiGi describe herself? Well, the Bio would read like a cross between a House & Home magazine and a Business Management for Dummies book all set in a Sunday comics format! To say my approach to things is professional with a side of humor would be spot on.
Starting out as a young Designer 20+ years ago, the only thing I was sure about was my passion for Colour & Design. Come to find out that all the training school provided was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg and what I would really need, would fall to me to learn on the job. Ever great success (and failure) came at the cost of hard work in the field working with other great professionals and boy was the learning curve steep at times.
Over the years my family has grown, starting new chapters and so had my Design career. I found myself using my vast experiences to help me with growing a successful Design and Staging company, SASSY CHIC Interior Design. Along the way I realized that I enjoyed sharing my hard earned ‘tricks of the trade’, and mentoring those that were fighting the same struggle. If I could impart what I have learned to the next up and coming generation, without half as many pitfalls, why wouldn’t I?
Experience has taught me that no great feat happens without the support of others and finding your tribe is paramount. Sara Keeling, the Ying to my Design Yang, and I noticed a “GAP” in the transfer from education to business management. So together we decided to harness our experience to start The Staging Gap, our Professional Business Training company and bridge the way.
The industry has given me so much, I’m happy to give back.
Meet Kristina
I am obsessed with creating a work life balance and having a career that makes me happy each day! I want to be able to laugh at work, feel inspired, surround myself with great people, be with my family, travel, follow passion projects and sometimes just binge TV shows. Whew, I know, this is a tall order. Most of the people around me think I’m a little bit “nuts” to have these expectations; however, 20 years later I am proud to say that I have grown successful Renovation & Staging Businesses, Custom House Interiors & Custom House Staging, while enjoying the rare flexibility that this industry offers. Starting out in the Design world 20 years ago, there was never an “open-door” policy where I could learn from others, so I made what feels like ALL the mistakes!
For many of us creatives, we possess the trained eye, the “Knack” or affinity for producing beautiful spaces, but where many of us get caught is between harnessing our skills and creating a Profitable Business.
My partner in crime, Kristina O’Boyle, and I, recognized this “GAP” and decided it was high time that we fill in blanks. We started our Professional Business Training company, The Staging Gap, to help others with the practical, hands-on training required to create incredible careers as we have come to enjoy.
It is through our teaching that we have met the most determined, talented, dynamic and, quite frankly joyful, people that inspire us to share what we wish we would have known starting out.
I am so grateful for what Professional Home Staging has afforded for me, my family, co workers and now students, and that fortifies my commitment to help others not just achieve financial success, but that work-life balance we all strive for!
